Side – Stand – Sit, reimagines an already familiar urban object, into new urban street furniture. Social solutions for current “pandemic centric times” should have the ability to be reused for future “post – pandemic” times as well.

The bike stand module uses a single hinged mechanism to lock the lower half of the stand into a seat. They can be installed at sidewalks and zones that are currently seeing heavy pedestrian standing traffic, transforming crowded queuing areas into gathering spaces while adhering to physical distancing norms. In a post pandemic time, these modules can be relocated and installed throughout the city at parks, schools, and other locations. The re-designed familiar object now serves a dual function.
